This is an excellent example of Japanese lacquerware box which is
beautifully decorated
using authentic Raden (*) technique.
*
Raden technique, whereby mother of pearl is cut out into decorative pieces, and glued or inlayed into the lacquered material.
The box is decorated with a jewel beetle.
Please review the photos. You would see that its color beautifully changes like a jewel beetle
when it is illuminated by a light differently .
It is in excellent condition.
