    Description

    Up for sale is a matched set of 2 Donju Jubako (Japanese Porcelain Stacking Bento Storage Boxes) with a Matching Small Carafe.  Each piece is hand painted featuring bamboo stalks, stems and leaves.  The carafe has a gold bird sitting on top.
    Condition is excellent for age (probably 1950's) with a few spots of paint missing on large bamboo and a couple of leaves (see pics) but no cracks, chips or damage to the porcelain / ceramic.
    The square Donju Jubako are the most rare and thought to have more of a Japanese aesthetic than the round ones which are more Chinese in style.  To have a set such as this is rare and this is an excellent opportunity to add to your collection.

    Tall 4 Section Piece: 9 3/4" Tall x 5 1/4" Square w/ 2" Boxes, Weighs 6 lbs 6.2 oz
    Small 3 Section Piece: 7 1/4" Tall x 4 3/4" Square w/ 1 7/8" Boxes, Weighs 3 lbs. 6 oz.
    Carafe: 5 7/8" Tall x 2 1/2" Wide Weighs 7.3 oz.
    These are often used to hold jewelry and other sundries but can be used in the kitchen for food or spices, etc.
