Description
Up for sale is a matched set of 2 Donju Jubako (Japanese Porcelain Stacking Bento Storage Boxes) with a Matching Small Carafe. Each piece is hand painted featuring bamboo stalks, stems and leaves. The carafe has a gold bird sitting on top.Condition is excellent for age (probably 1950's) with a few spots of paint missing on large bamboo and a couple of leaves (see pics) but no cracks, chips or damage to the porcelain / ceramic.
The square Donju Jubako are the most rare and thought to have more of a Japanese aesthetic than the round ones which are more Chinese in style. To have a set such as this is rare and this is an excellent opportunity to add to your collection.
