    A BEAUTIFUL BRONZE FOLLIS OF CONSTANTINE VIII (POSSIBLY WITH HIS BROTHER BASIL II) FROM 1020 - 1028 AD .
    Constantine VIII was a pleasure-loving man who allowed the administration to fall into the hands of others.
    THE SIZE IS 28.3 MM AND 9.92 GRAMS.

    OBVERSE – Bust of Christ facing, wearing nimbus cruciger with five pellets in each limb, pallium and colobium, book of Gospels in both hands, IC-XC (barred) across fields
    REVERSE – Legend in four lines; floral ornaments above and below
    Constantine VIII, Byzantine emperor, coemperor with his brother Basil II from 962 to 1025 and sole ruler from 1025 to 1028. He was a pleasure-loving man who allowed the administration to fall into the hands of others. He had no male heir, and on his deathbed he arranged that his second daughter, Zoe, should succeed him and marry the eparch of Constantinople, Romanus III Argyrus.
