Byzantine lead seal of Andreas cubicularius(6th cent.). A rare piece!
Obverse:
A man with long hair (seemingly Andreas, the owner of the seal) riding on a horse to right, holding a spear (?) in his left hand ready to throw it, no visible
border.
Reverse:
Cruciform
monogram in Greek inscribed in the corners by latin letters, the whole inscription restored from parallel pieces, [

Condition: The flan small, as usual in these seals of Andreas, otherwise about Very Fine.
An interesting historically early seal with the rare depiction of a horseman!
A nice piece, with historical importance, acquired in a European auction.
