    Description

    This antique Japanese lacquer box has a hand painted floral design with center carved from precious material depicting a figure chopping wood.
    The box has a metal hinge and door lock design (keyless).
    This decorative lacquered box dates back to the end of the 19th century. It has wear and tear commensurate with its age, including peeling paint at corners and edges, missing facing material, a noticeable crack （Last picture, the area marked with a red circle）and a noticeable loss of material on the figure's legs.
